Thanks to all who helped to make the Vic Teal tournament a great success last week!Thanks to all who helped to make the Vic Teal tournament a great success last week!
74 teams and between 4 and 5,000 people came through the Sportsplex during the four days of the Vic Teal. Not a small event!
As chair of the planning committe, I would like to thank specifically the following people for their countless -- and I mean countless! -- hours over the past 6 months in helping to plan and run the event:
Bill Culp -- the BIGGEST, BEST Tournament Convenor ever!
Kelly Chase -- VIc's grandaughter, SCMHA board member and volunteer extraordinaire!
Aletha Hodge - SCMHA Board member and our very own lady in pink!
Liz Riddle -- Friend of Kelly's who decided last minute to volunteer and was at the arena for most of the tournament -- where DID she come from? We love her!
Wayne Briggs-Jude -- For helping with all the "important" details like ice scheduling!
Andrew, Amanda and Cameron -- For donating their vacation time to run the skills compeition -- just for the fun of it -- and being the type of young people we truly admire. Amazing!
And, to all of the parent and family volunteers who helped out during the event -- this was the smoothest volunteer turn-out in a long time. We thank you all.
Plug for next year: Anyone interested in being part of the planning commitee for the Vic Teal 2010, please let us know. Bil's goal is 100 teams!
