Best Game of the Year
Well, if I had not seen yesterdays game I may not have believed it! The referee even commented that it was turning into a "football game",with so many goals being scored.
Anyone who saw the game saw that the players are still struggling with getting the puck out of our own end. However, I also had a coach one time tell our team that no matter how bad you play, as long as it's better than the competition, you should be okay. That certainly seemed to fit the way we played Saturday. The first two periods were "okay" on the excitement scale, but then things went ballistic excitement-wise in the third period with most goals of the game being scored [ I think we had 6 in the third]. From being behind, to tying the game, to going ahead and to only have the same sequence repeat itself was heart-stopping at times. The Leafs decided to tie the game in the last couple of minutes of the game and then we put in the winning goal with about 2 seconds left on the clock, winning the game 9-8!!! I think it may have been our most exciting game this year so far. And without a doubt, seeing how excited the players were was awesome to experience. Jason Persad was chosen as our player of the game. Way to go Jason!! We next have a game Thursday at 6 pm and look forward to seeing everyone at Kelsey's after the game.
