Stoney Creek Warriors are CHAMPIONS of the Bradford Blue & Gold Tournament
A gruelling and hard fought weekend results in a Championship for the Stoney Creek Warriors Minor Atom AE!!  An amazing 41 goals scored and 10 goals against in 6 games in a TOTAL team effort!

The coaches couldn't be prouder of this group and a great start to the season!!

Moving through the round robin, the team started off with a strong win against the Vaughan Rangers Blue in the morning.

In the second game, the Warriors faced a familiar foe in the Burlington Bulldog Red team.  The Warriors opened up the scoring halfway through the 1st period, but found themselves down 5-1 at the end of the 1st period.  In an incredible gritty effort, the Warriors chipped back and were down 5-3 at the end of the 2nd and ended up winning in the final 2 minutes of the 3rd period, 6-5.

In the 3rd and 4th round robin game, the Warriors found tough opponents in the Leaside Red and Vaughan Ranger White teams, but were able to overcome with a determined team effort.

In the Semi-finals, the Warriors were up against a challenging and pumped up Burlington Bulldog White team that came out on fire.  After a tough 1st period, the Warriors opened up the scoring in the second and kept up their determined play to win 5-1.

With only 2 hours before the finals at another rink, the Warriors prepared for their toughest test yet against the high flying TNT Tornadoes! (TNT had only let in 2 goals in 5 games)

The first goal came halfway through the 1st period from Jacob Mamone on a great individual effort!  The Tornadoes tied it up halfway through the 2nd period in a fantastic back and forth game.  Then with 5 minutes left to play, TNT scored on a great play from behind the net to lead 2-1.

Scrambling and looking for an equalizing goal, the Warriors put out the RED line and Liam Sansom came up with a beautiful backhand with the Goalie pulled to tie the game at 2-2 with 1 minute left to play!

In the 1st OT period (4 on 4) the game was intense with end to end play and both goalies came up huge with saves.

2nd OT (3 on 3) had Jacob Mamone, Michael Loosemore and Tyler Chomos on the ice.  Off the faceoff draw pass to Loosemore who went in one-on-one and buried a backhander high stick side for the championship title.

One of the most exciting games/tournaments that these players, parents and coaches have ever been a part of and will remember forever.  No matter what happens, these players know they can count on the coaches, their teammates and themselves - no matter what the score!!

Congratulations to the boys who will never forget this weekend and what a TEAM is capable of.

Who are we???  WARRIORS!!!
