October marked the beginning of the holiday season filled with fun and festivities celebrated with family and friends. This holiday season, the Stoney Creek Warriors Minor Peewee AA team decided it was important to give back to the Hamilton Ronald McDonald House.

The Ronald McDonald House provided the team with a specific list of “House Needs” that they require to support the families who use the house while their child is seriously ill at McMaster Children’s Hospital. Each week, beginning Sunday, October 15th, the Warriors had a designated theme for some of the items given to the team from Ronald McDonald House. Items were dropped off at each of the Stoney Creek Warriors home games up until Sunday, December 10th. The Stoney Creek Warriors are extremely fortunate to be part of an OMHA loop with some many generous teams. Each of the opposing teams that they played during the Ronald McDonald House Pantry Drive went over and above and generously contributed to the collection. The team also handed out flyers to families in their neighborhoods and were able to add quite a number of donations to their ever-growing collections of goods. On Saturday, January 6th, the Stoney Creek Warriors players and their families came together and loaded up all of the donations into their head coach's truck as well as into 3 additional vehicles. The players headed down to the Ronald McDonald House and helped to unload all of the items into the RMH's front foyer. The staff at Ronald McDonald House were so grateful and overwhelmed by the size of the donation that the team dropped off to them. One of the staff members shared with the team that it was the largest donation that they had ever received! Everyone- players, coaches and families were thrilled to hear such news. The Stoney Creek Warriors Ronald McDonald House Pantry Drive was a great way to give back and to get involved in our community. What better way to end the Holiday Season by then by opening up your heart and giving back?
