U7, U8 and U9MD TRYOUT INFO
WELCOMING A NEW
GENERATION OF WARRIORS
SCMHA is excited to announce that the OMHA has
officially approved the inclusion of U7MD, U8MD, and U9MD teams in the open borders.
This new initiative will introduce a spring
selection process in April for U8MD and U9MD. U7MD team selections taking place
in September.
Players resident to the OMHA wishing to participate
in U9 and below MD programming are eligible to attend evaluations and be
rostered with any MD team within the OMHA
The evaluation skates will begin on Saturday, April 12. Please visit our
website for more information, dates, and times as they become available.
SCMHA
teams traditionally have meaningful team ice sessions/practices until March 31st
each year and therefore prep skates are an unnecessary cost. These practices
are included in the current year’s registration fees. In lieu of prep skates, we
will be offering a Warrior open house experience for U7 and U8 players on March
26th @ 6pm Valley Park Arena.
THIS
WILL BE FREE OF CHARGE AND AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE THE WARRIOR PRIVATE
DRESSING ROOM AND CULTURE
Please note that to take part in our
open house, your child must have been on a SCMHA U7 or U8 roster during the
2024-25 season. Keep an eye on our social media channels, website, and your
inbox for registration details as they become available.
SCMHA will offer two teams per age
group. The Tier 1 team will compete in the Tri-County Minor Hockey League and a
Tier 2 team will compete in the Niagara District Hockey League. This will be based on interest and
registrations.
All players will have access to our ADP
(Additional Development Program) run by Mark Mazzetti AAA HC Hamilton Steel.
Additional costs of ADP will be decided later once teams have been selected.
The SCMHA Development Staff and Head
Coaches will be selecting 34-36 players per age group (U7, U8, and U9) for
these teams (17-18 players/team). Please review our evaluation policies on the
website for further details.
If you have any questions or need
further information, please do not hesitate to reach out.
