Silver Medalist - Atom AE - Hespler Tournament
During the Christmas Break, the Atom AE Warriors took part in the 50th Hespeler Olympic Christmas tournament in Cambridge.
On Day#1, the boys played smart, and used their speed against Richmond Hill Stars and won 4-2. Next up that afternoon they played Milton Winterhawks, and won 5-1 to finish day #1.
On Day#2 they made the trek back to Cambridge for an early game and played well against the Waterloo Wolves. Despite a great effort, the boys were defeated 3-1 to a tough team. However, the boys didn't let the loss get them down.
They came out strong on Day#3. First up, they played Brampton Marlies and came out on top with a 2-1 victory. Moving on to the Semi Finals, the boys were matched up to play New Hamburg Huskies. Determination paid off, and the boys were once again victorious with a 4-3 win! On to the Championship game!!! After a whole day of hockey the boys were matched up once again with Richmond Hill Stars. Unfortunately, after 3 games in one day, and half the team not feeling 100% due to colds, we ran out of gas. Despite at last minute effort to pull out a 3rd period comeback, the boys fell short to Richmond Hill Stars 1-4.
The success the boys had in this tournament made for a great finish to 2016. All the parents, grandparents and other friends and relatives that trekked out to Cambridge all 3 days are very pleased in how they finished.
Great job on Silver Medalist at the Hespeler Olympic Christmas Tournament.
Go Warriors Go!!!
