Tournament of Champions - Game Four
Stoney Creek Warriors Vs. Tecumseh Shoreline Eagles, 6:15pm (Saltfleet) With anticipation high from game 3, the boys came out with a lot of energy and determination.

Things started out with solid defence and aggressive fore-checking. However penalty problems stalled any offence. Once again good penalty killing by all backstopped by solid goal tending by Jack (31) turned away a determined Eagles offense, giving up just a single goal and kept us in the game heading into the 2nd period.  Penalties, 4 this time, continued to stymie any offence in the 2nd. But again some gritty penalty killing by the entire team prevented the Eagle's from generating any offense. We ended up tying the game short handed. Ryan W. (10) coming off the bench was sent in on a breakaway by a clearing pass from Matthew (19) and fired a hard blast from the slot, tying things up at 1-1.    The third period was scoreless, both teams working hard and the goalies shining.  After 3 periods the shots were 23-18, 13 of ours taken in the third. All Warriors lines were getting pucks and bodies to the net finally. Unfortunately our power play sputtered and it was still tied at the end of regulation. The game went into 3-on-3, sudden-death overtime.   The first minute saw Jack (31) stop a clean cut breakaway by the Eagles. Then a penalty on the Warriors. Jaxon (43) Gianluca (77) and Jack succeeded in killing 25 seconds of a man short. The score remained tied after the first 1 minute of overtime.   With Zach P (22), Ryan W (10) and Matthew C (19) out for the second overtime minute , Ryan and Zach gambled early pressuring the Eagle players deep. Matthew was the lone man back. Fortunately their pressure paid off. They stole the puck and Zach, who played hard throughout the entire tournament, was rewarded for all that work, and fired a beautiful wrist shot into the Eagles net for an exciting win! A goal to remember on a day we all remember.  Zach may have scored but the win belongs to every player. Everyone played a great game. All three lines and all five D. That's how we win. Everyone has to play well.     Well, the TOC is over but after such a thrilling win, expectations for the remainder of the season remain high.  Good job boys!
