In spite of back to back losses the team's overall play has shown improvement.
All lines are playing well. Ang Fantauzzo(15)seems more comfortable at center between Nicky (55) and Daniel(44). They can generate offense when they get the puck deep and get shots.Thomas Boehmer has added some offense playing on the right side with Gianluca(77) and Riley(29). Gianluca and Riley supply physical pressure in spite of their size at both ends of the ice. Zack(22) is playing well at center especially when he gets the puck deep. Before Antonio's (28)suspension their line,with Jaxon(43) was really starting to click both physically and offensively. With Vinny(88) hurt and the suspension we thought Ryan (10) played well on that line. Unfortunately that left us with only 4 D for the St Catherine's game. Although all, Evan (49), Justin (8), Patrick (27) and Matthew (19) played a strong game they, along with some of our forwards, ran out of gas in the third. Overall we feel our D is working hard and improving. We especially like the play of Matthew Cowan, a converted forward, who has made a difficult transition, look easy.Our strong points continue to be great goaltending from both Jack (31) and Tomas (33), and great penalty killing. We're trying to get the boys playing 5 on 5 in our zone as relaxed and confident as they do on the kill.
Areas for improvement continue to be:
more shots and bodies to the net,
better power play, better transition game,
more physical play by all- take the body,
stronger compete level by all,
more confidence by all.
