The Minor Bantam Junior Warriors of Stoney Creek recovered from an opening game loss to reel off 4 straight victories and claim the Ace Bailey Tournament Championship on Sunday, October 20, 2013.
Included in those victories was a 6-1 win over the West London Hawks, a narrow 3-2 defeat of the Oakville Raiders, and a 6-2 triumph in a rematch against the same Burlington Bulldogs team that defeated them in game one.
The championship contest featured two teams very familiar with one another – Stoney Creek and the Hamilton Hub Phantoms—playing for the third time this season. After three scoreless periods, the game went into sudden death OT. Jaiden Lumb scored on a penalty shot at the end of the third overtime round to send the home town crowd into a frenzy and clinch the thrilling tournament victory.
